Origin of valentine's day : 

Valentine's Day, also called Saint Valentine's Day or St. Valentine's Celebration, is celebrated on 14th February of every year. Being Valentine's day, as a day celebrating Valentine's Day, honoring one or two early saints, Valentine's Day is recognized as an important cultural, religious and commercial festival of romance and romantic love in many areas around the world. Goes, though it is not a public holiday, no country.

Around the year 1992 Valentine's Day was not celebrated in India.Apart from an economical liberalization, it was spread due to programs in commercial TV channels, such as MTV, dedicated radio programs and love letter contests, which allowed the blast of the Valentine's Card industry.
